Wayne Hough
Associate Director, Queensway

I am a qualified accountant with over 20 years of experience in the services and leisure sectors, including my formative years at Price Waterhouse. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and have extensive expertise in finance, corporate governance, tax planning, and strategic development.

I joined Queensway in 2009 and have played a key role in the Group’s growth, initially as Group Financial Controller. During this time, I oversaw the company’s expansion through organic growth, the acquisition of the Starbucks business and The Sloane Club, as well as several strategic joint ventures with investment funds. Today, I work closely with the Group Finance Director in the corporate division, evaluating investment opportunities, arranging finance, and planning the strategic development of assets while ensuring their seamless integration into the Queensway structure.

As part of my responsibilities, I oversee Group consolidated reporting and corporate governance, ensuring the effectiveness of risk management and internal control systems across the business. I liaise with various business units to maintain the integrity of financial information and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory regimes. Additionally, I lead tax planning and strategy for both the UK operating company (Opco) and property company (Propco) structures, establishing a regulatory framework to ensure statutory and tax compliance reporting across Queensway.

In 2022, I obtained a certificate in Technology and Innovation from MIT, equipping me with skills that have helped Queensway leverage data and implement new technologies. This enhances the Group’s ability to achieve its strategic and long-term vision by utilizing data, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) technologies.

Before joining Queensway, I was Finance Director at Groupe Flo (UK) Ltd, a subsidiary of France’s largest restaurant group, where I was responsible for finance, administration, and reporting to the Board in Paris.
